Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm agents, on campus Tuesday for Project Safe Neighborhoods training, detained a “suspicious individual” near the Georgia Center, University Police Chief Jimmy Williamson said.

Jeremiah Ransom, a sophomore from Macon, was leaving a Wesley Foundation pirate vs. ninja event when he was detained.

This is not fair...why didn't they arrest any of the pirates?

Probably saw a guy all dressed in black, wearing what appeared to be a ski mask, and thought 'burglar'.

No one's perfect.

Why use ATF agents when they could have sent in Shintaro?

Plus they would have known straight away they were not burglars because thay were not wearing black and white striped poloneck shirts..

Here is the new image they now issue to the ATF agents to help them identify burglars

They could just as easily seen a guy with a wooden leg, a patch over one eye, a parrot on his shoulder and a cutlass at his side and thought, "scurvy plunderer of the seven seas." :)

“Seeing someone with something across the face, from a federal standpoint — that’s not right,” McLemore said, explaining why agents believed something to be amiss.

Huh?

Too many answers here...Brain overload...

(1) Pirates bribed them with their booty.

(2) A True ninja can't go more than 10 seconds without sneeking up on someone and (a) roundkicking them, (b) silently breaking their neck, and/or (c) using his/her ninja stars to pin somebody against a brick wall (Yes, this is all scientific fact.) How could he not be detained?

(3) Pirates were already in international waters by the time the Feds got close to their ship.

(4) The Feds thought it would be funny to tell a ninja "You have the right to be silent". The chance of staying alive after this is 1/100 though.

(5) Just like every US policy, we call pirates "friends" (even though they rape and pilage our cities), and go after the true "terrorists"--Ninjas. Similarities abound for the two groups (hence the joint party), but the US has decided that pirates are the lesser of two evils.

Also, typically pirates don't cover their faces (except the occasional eyepatch). And apparently, covering your face is a tipoff to the Feds.

Ahhh...but those Muslim pirate wenches or pirate lepors are in trouble then.

This is obviously a hate crime. I don't understand how Ninjas can still be discriminated against in this day and age. What makes it even worse is that the Ninja in question was obviously attending a peace rally with their mortal enemy, the pirate. Its sad that it had to end like this.

BTW, he must've been a novice Ninja to be caught so easily. Perhaps he should brush up on his skills.

Obviously, the Pastafarians are gaining influence. Wouldn't it be considered Religious Persecution to hassle someone in "Full Pirate Reagalia"? So, the ATF is wary of hassling pirates. While Ninja's lack a religious tie, thereby being the last target for "profiling" based on covering ones face?

Ummm....All ninjas are Buddhists. If they die, they will be reincarnated and take you down in their next life, along with a thousand others just to prove their points. The life of a ninja is complex.

Well the purpose of ninjas is to flip out and kill people, pirates are marginally more peacefull.

I read in a different article that while no pirates were arrested one was detained for questioning on suspicion of arrrrrrrrrson.
I understand they're also investigating a possible grand larrrrrrceny.

This one time when I was in traffic court there was a ninja there because of a noise violation. Ya! Try getting THAT one to stick. Anyway, the judge said "Not guilty" and banged his gavel on the desk. The ninja, startled at the sound of the "bang" flipped out and killed everyone in the courtroom. Then, he went door-to-door killing everyone in the town who was related to the people in the courtroom.

Then he wailed on his guitar and disappeared into the shadows.

There is something vaguely unsettling about this post. Mason, turn yourself in...we have people that can help....do it today.
