Hey, y'all:

Keeping with my policy of putting everything off until the last second, I have a bunch of questions that hopefully someone will be kind enough to answer:

1. How are people getting to the Riv? We were playing with the idea of the taking the Deuce (we're cheap). Anyone have a yea or nay?

2. Is it still possible to get into Jamie Ian Swiss's show?

3. If God is in the margins and the Devil is in the details, where is the Holy Ghost? The footnotes?

4. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck had evolved opposable thumbs and had a preference for tungsten-tipped chainsaws?

Any help is appreciated. See you guys soon!

Matt

Also, have we taken over a bar again? Should I just pay close attention for the scent of drunken skeptics?

I'm sure drunken skeptics smell good.
Is anyone doing anything during Thursday at around/after midnight?
Can I come?

I'm sure Sylvia is winning at craps...she's psychic after all.

I've actually done some preliminary work on the subject of how psychic one needs to be in order to win at craps. In other words, the house margin at craps is so slim (less than one percent for a reasonable player) that one doesn't need to be correct 100 percent of the time in order to gain a statistical advantage. But what degree of ability is needed to tip the scales in the player's favor?

In development of this thesis, I have developed the "principle of psychic equivalence," which as far as I know, is a legitimate principle of paranormal investigation. (It is, in other words, complete crap as a practical matter; but it is useful for evaluating the efficacy of paranormal models.)

Preliminarily, I can state with some certainty that only a very small degree of psychic ability is needed to gain a statistical advantage at craps. If psychics could be accurate as often as they claim, they would easily tip the scales in their favor. The psychics would be banned from the table for starters, and those who took advantage of their techniques would soon make craps an unprofitable enterprise for the casino. It is likely that craps would no longer be offered at all, because it would be "beat-able."

Yet none of this has happened. One wonders why.

Rumor has it that Mr Randi and Robert Lancaster may be interviewed on Bill Orielly's show tomorrow along with Sylvia Browne. Seems her prediction that the kidnapped kids that were just rescued was WAY off the mark and caused the family some grief. She said one of the kids was dead...I'll bet the stop Sylvia Browne website gets a LOT of hits...
