New York City Skeptics and the New England Skeptical Society/Skeptics Guide to the Universe are pleased to announce a new conference to be held in New York City, September 12th, 2009 - the Northeast Conference on Science and Skepticism (www.necsscon.org)!
NECSS (pronounced "nexus") seeks to explore the intersection of science, media, education, politics, and popular culture, and examine how we may best utilize that understanding to promote a more rational world.
Festivities include a full day of lectures and panel discussions from some of the biggest names in the skeptical and scientific worlds. This year's speakers and panelists include James Randi, Jamy Ian Swiss, Dr. Paul Offit, John Rennie, Massimo Pigliucci, Carl Zimmer, Rachael Dunlop, Seteve, Novella, Rebecca Watson, and the entire SGU "Rogue's Gallery."
