New Movie

Now I know this must be a load of crap. Anyone know anything about this supposed "Death from a spirit?"

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/american_haunting/about.php

"Based on true events that took place in Tennessee during the 1800s, An American Haunting tells the story of the only documented case in U.S. history (validated by the State of Tennessee) in which a spirit caused a person's death. With over 20 books written on the subject, and a town that still lives in fear of the spirit's return, the story of "An American Haunting" is terrifying. Between the years 1818-1820, the Bell Family of Red River, Tennessee was visited by an unknown presence that haunted the family and eventually caused the death of one of its members."

How does a state validate a person's death was by a spirit anyway? I guess the fact it was set in the 1800's is a clue.

Sounds like another "Blair Witch Project". that was sold to the naive public with tales of it being a true story or actual footage.

The legend of the Bell Witch is rather famous in the US. The witch's ghost supposedly haunted this family, eventually the father falls ill, ghost claims to have poisoned him, and he dies. It's a great ghost story, and, as a horror movie buff, I'm looking forward to the film. But the whole, "Based on actual events" is bollocks.

A man beats his daughter and shortly after some neighbors drop in. "Who did that?" they ask. "A spirit." the man answers. 150 years later the legend is made into a movie.
