Never Again

For some reason, I allowed myself to be talked out of going to TAM4.

The wife and I have had several discussions about this. Much violence ensued. I am reliably informed that both of my legs will heal, and that the bullets missed the heart - and anyway, you can do great things with artifical hearts nowadays. But I stood firm.

Never again. We will not be missing another one. If the JREF folds, and I have to physically drag Mr Randi, Mr Shermer, the Mythbusters, Phil, Penn and Teller, and whomever else we decide are "crucial" to Vegas for the meeting, I will do so.

Sorry guys. Kiless and I both deeply regret missing it. Won't happen again.

As long as you both learned your lesson.

It will be good to see you at a TAM again.

Walt

Some people learn the easy way.

Some people learn the hard way.

And some people just never learn.

To be honest, we couldn't afford for Kitten2 to go. My husband and I had to really cut back and save. Thanks to Paul A. she got a scholarship. We had to insist the school give her a week off (it was finals week and they said they never make an exception, I told them it was a week off or I was going to shoot one of her grandmothers so she coudl attend the funeral which I would hold in Vegas).

We finally thought, we HAVE to do this.

this meant so much to her. As you can tell by the thread I started!

Sure it's expensive, but really it's priceless!

Now you have learned your lesson! Good 666!!!

You would have loved during the live auction. People were bidding "$666" for stuff! Always good for a laugh!

Well, I've already helped Kiless with the photo for the next Skepchick calendar, so hopefully those scholarships will continue to be available. The money wasn't the problem for us; it was more than Kiless couldn't get the time off school (a problem we're intending to solve by getting her knocked up).

Subtle aren't we....

Oh

The one who's little path would make me sad
Who's power is satan
He'll give you, give you 666
There was a little toolshed where you made us suffer, sad satan.

Anything for you, man.

Well, almost anything.
