It must be coming up on Hallowe'en...

*Sigh*
EXETER, England (Reuters) - If local legend is true, there are almost as many ghosts wandering the streets of the ancient English city of Exeter as there are people.
Dating back at least to Roman times more than 2,000 years ago, the riverside city in the rural southwestern county of Devon claims to be the most haunted place in England.
"I could talk all night and still not finish telling you all about our ghosts and legends," said city guide David Fantarrow on a tour of Exeter.
From the ghosts of cats and dogs to Elizabethan sailors and star-crossed lovers in a suicide pact, Exeter claims to have it all -- in the specter department at least.
I guess the good news is that I was shown this page by my daughter (13), who thought it was just hilarious.

Whats wrong with a good old fashioned ghost story,c'mon? People like the thrill of being scared dont they? I personally dont believe in them, but still wouldnt fancy spending a night alone in some spooky fog bound gothic house! Would you?:D

I hear tell that "skepchicks" are somewhat rare... you may need to go it alone. Got your EMF detector? :p

I don't see the harm in it. 'Tis the season and all, right? I mean, it's October, and who doesn't love a creepy story during Halloween-time? Mmmm... makes me think of bonfires and cider and candy...

Well, it's kinda hard to tell. I just assume that most of the people posting to this board are guys, I might be surprised to find out that many of them turn out to be girls.

But your probably right, simply because the hostility and arguments that occasionally occurs on this board is probably more in tune with a male ego than a female one. Though there are a few skepchics. Rebecca and ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ok, maybe there's just one.

There's more than one skepchic, but I aint talking. I need to try and convince at least of them to move here and live with me, and I don't need the competition.

A spooky fog bound gothic house? Count me in, as long as it's got some bookshelves for my copies of the works of Shermer, Randi, Kurtz, Dawkins and so on.

I live in Exeter, and as yet, have never seen a ghost. But if I do, I'll let you all know.

Exeter is just like any old city - full of old ghost stories, probably mostly invented in the Victorian era, and remembered only by tour guides and business owners with a vested interest.
