For those who haven't heard...NECSS 2010 will take place on April 17, 2010 in NYC. The JREF's own DJ Grothe will deliver the keynote address. More info will be released shortly...!

Will anything be changed regarding the whole lunch thing? That was, quite honestly, horrible. To have George Hrab do a lunch time concert, in a theater that didn't even allow us to bring in water, let alone other food and drink was unfair to Geo, and I missed that entire part of the conference.

Yay!! I'll be at NECSS II!

When I returned from lunch, I apologized to George for missing his concert. It was poor planning.

The timing was also very poor. I usually eat lunch at 11:30, and I had to get up about 3 hours earlier than normal to get to NECSS, so for me "lunchtime" was at the equivalent of 4:30 p.m. for someone who normally eats at noon.

Lunchtime plans are still being finalized, but any lunchtime entertainment will be scheduled so as to maximize the opportunity for folks to get lunch and still catch the show.

Well, the conference begins at 10AM, so having a lunch break at 11:30, or even 12:00 won't really work. I'm afraid there's not much we can do in that respect. I suggest eating a snack beforehand to tide you over! :-)

Also, one of the other things that was kind of a bummer was being able to spend time/mingle with the speakers. I understand that the facility isn't really that good for that, but that's one of the great things at TAM.

I was hoping to spend more time with Dr. Rachie, but she got taken to her speakers dinner and didn't get out of that until very late and I was zonko. Part of the nice thing about these conferences is networking and I feel that aspect was squandered.

Oh, and just so you all don't think that I'm just complaining. I thought the speakers were fantastic and really enjoyed the talks a great deal. The cost of the conference was great and that was helpful considering how expensive a place to stay in NYC is.

Any idea when we will be able to register? I've already booked my hotel and flight.

Registration will open at the end of the month, along with a full speaker list and a new website (woohoo!).

Yeah baby!!! I'll be there!

Scrut, seriously, does your life consist of jetting around the world attending various skeptical conferences, meetings, cruises and orgies? Because I don't know how you do it, but you have, like, the best existence ever.

I would if the orgies part was true. :)
