Mythbuster and Mythtern Grant Imahara has died at the age of 49. Present reports were that he suffered from a fatal brain aneurysm.

Other than Mythbusters Grant was part of the Lucusfilm's Industrial Light and Magic Studio, working on films including the Star Wars prequels, The Matrix Reloaded, Van Helsing, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

Farewell Grant.

I just finished watching him as Lt. Sulu in "Star Trek Continues".

You will be missed Mr. Imahara.

49 now? I still would have thought he was much younger.

One of my favorite bits -- when they had the fish nibbling at his toes.

Hmm...

I'm remembering the 'plane drop' test that they did, where they were dropped a few inches and really rattled around.

In hindsight, that could have killed him then.

Horrible to contemplate.

That's a bummer. I liked him. Way too young.

I have a small aneurism I am ignoring. I mean, what am I going to do? I don't want brain surgery. Maybe when this COVID thing is over I'll go have that scan with contrast to see if I should worry or not.

Me too, though looking them up, Kari is the Baby at 45, Grant and Tori are both 49, Adam is 52, and Jamie is the dad who will turn the show around and go back home, coming in at 63.

Not gonna lie, this bummed me out tonight. Grant was such a ball of enthusiasm for all the Build Team's adventures. This now makes two hosts to depart the world too early (substitute host Jessi Combs died last year trying to break the land speed record for a woman).

She was granted the record posthumously. Still very sad though. Same for Grant.

:(

To be honest, I'm a little surprised no one died or was seriously injured during the course of Mythbusters. I remember the shocked and horrified look on Adam's (or was it Jamie's? For some reason I have always mixed up their names) face when they found out the ballistic plexiglas shields they used were rated much lower for protection than they thought.

Grant Imahara has died

Reported by TMZ: Grant Imahara died of a brain aneurysm.

My daughter grew up watching Mythbusters. I met him twice. I rather liked the guy...

Would it have killed you to pass up a chance at a clever clickbait title and just used his name?

Already a thread under TV, but has an extremely vague subject so hard to find.

Personally if I was a mod merging them I would keep this title btw

Edit: maybe change it to Mythbusters : Grant Imah. ..... etc

Regrettably very real. After all those dangerous stunts and experiments he is done in by a brain aneurysm.
