For the 12 year old James Bond wannabe in all of us......

A sports car which can travel on water at the touch of a button has been given a test drive on the Thames.

The convertible Aquada Sports Amphibian, which can reach up to 100mph on land, uses a jet to propel it through water at speeds of over 30mph.

From a BBC story here:

I can just hear Monty Norman's theme music.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but it almost appears that the vehicle has neither right-hand drive nor left-hand drive. It appears as though the driver sits in the center of three seats.

That's pretty much how it looks to me, too - one central front seat, and two or three at the rear.

On the whole, however, I'd rather have one of these:

Yeah, except the water car can really go in the water. The air car just sits on the ground, year after year.

Have you ever seen a MClaren F1 Road Car?

You can't tell from the pictures here but it's a 3-seater, with a center drive in front, and two passenger seats on the shoulders of the driver.

When I got into cars as a teen, I thought this thing was the bomb diggy!

One of our local DJs bought one of those. He also worked with the Mach 5 designer/builder to create a Batmobile like the one from the Adam West TV series. He drives them around town and they both will excede 100 and supposedly handle quite well.

It appears to be a modified corvette. I was going to pick one up at a mere 100k, but then I found that they didn't throw in the Speed Racer scarf. Deal breaker.

Hmm...where I live, that'd be really useful. Especially on my 18th birthday....drive across the river to Quebec, get in clubs a year earlier. Great fun.
