I know this ghastly (not ghostly) programme has been discussed at length, but anyhow: the episode I watched yesterday had the narrator/investigator (I forget her name) 'hearing' a demonic laugh in her ear. She screamed and burst into tears. It amuses me that the people who investigate these things spend so much time begging the 'astral beings' to manifest or show they are present, but when they hear a bump or some other unexplained noise, they freak out - even the 'medium'. No wonder the 'beings' don't bother very often - why would you manifest when you were only going to get screamed at!

Well, when something does happen (supposedly), they have to demonstrate how incredible it is. If someone freaks out, surely there must be something to it, right?

It's sort of a variant on ancient rhetorical methods; the person who shows a lot of emotion is more likely to be believed in most cases.

Better get TAPS on it. It's interesting to watch that "Ghost Hunters" show evolve from; not much going on except camera flash effects, to people being touched and scratched. It also appears some of the clients (Queen Mary comes to mind) are capitalizing on the shows popularity for advertisement. Maybe I can get them to advertise on my signature?

Well...If there are ghosts, and that's a big if, I think the logical place to look (which I believe has not yet been investigated). Is the women's locker room at some sort of modeling college or an unscale health club.

I know that's where I'd go if I were an invisible being of energy. I don't think I'd do any kind of activities to show my presence, other than perhaps some kind of subliminal connection to the living.

I wonder if any attractive woman has been in one of these areas and thought "Wow. Suddenly, I have this weird feeling. It's like this voice is telling me 'don't wash yourself. wash eachother'"
"Really...me too. Weird"
"Yeah. I think we should. I don't know why. But first I have the urge to go grab the boombox and put on some hot 80's music"

Another thing, why do people who claim to see ghosts always see a clothed figure of some sort? Wouldn't the "spirits" of the deceased return naked? Clothes can't die. Why would their "spirits" return on the bodies of the deceased? If clothes could die, wouldn't people claim to see the ghosts of discarded socks and underwear?

Well, this is just one of a million things that are illogical as far as ghost claims are concerned. You could write a whole book on it.

It cracks me up what some ghost claimants have resorted to. I was reading a book recently purportedly showing pictures of ghosts. One picture clearly showed a man sitting on a bench, with the caption below it saying "This man was not there when I took the photo".

*gasp*

SPQR - maybe ghosts are like The Incredible Hulk or any other superhero, in that their clothes are mysteriously bound to them... not by logic, that's for sure!

I think that one of the explanations for clothing was that spirits didn't want to appear naked/did not remember themselves as naked..?
