Read 'em and weep, CTists:

I get exposed to a lot of CTs, and I'm sure you've heard them, that the government uses vaccination as some sort of evil plot to cause autism in order to achieve...something (the evil gubmint's motive is never really explained).

I wish I could say this will help shut them up, but unfortunately chances are the study is just "faked". You know how it is.

I read the article, but did not find any reference for the research. Do you know where I can find the original research?

Look like the link above lost the credibility...

CDC Admits No Rigorous Study Refuting Thimerosal-Autism Link Ever Conducted

By Jake Crosby

Last May, I deconstructed a talking point of millionaire vaccine industrialist Paul Offit, who claimed that studying anything other than Thimerosal besides the MMR vaccine was “moving the goalpost” and therefore “classic for pseudoscience.” (HERE)

However, before anyone abandons the Thimerosal/autism theory, they should consider reading the CDC website first. In case you were unaware, the CDC has been conducting a case-control study using the Vaccine Safety Datalink Project that should have been published last January as the agency promised.

So you think there is a link?

And.....you just linked to something from ageofautism which is kinda not gonna help your argument. They'd continue to say there is a link if you proved that every single kid who has autism had never ever been exposed to thimerosal at all.

Jake Crosby is pretty well-known in the vaccination world as a real whacko. Anti-vaxxers love him because he claims to be autistic himself (kind of an ad hominem argument in reverse) but that is irrespective of the fact that what he writes is generally pretty much nonsense.

This is kind of like referencing an article on whale.to or the World Net Daily

I do not care what you think about the personal ideology of the author.

He present references to anyone verify his claims.

That is enough to help me out.

The sad part is these anti-vaxxer zealots think they're saving kids when they're doing the exact opposite.

You read the article and can't figure out where to find the research?
The study was released online Sept. 13 in advance of publication in the October print issue of Pediatrics.
The Google is your friend.

Thank you by the link.

I read the summary.

Methods A case-control study was conducted in 3 managed care organizations (MCOs) of 256 children with ASD and 752 controls matched by birth year, gender, and MCO. ASD diagnoses were validated through standardized in-person evaluations. Exposure to thimerosal in vaccines and immunoglobulin preparations was determined from electronic immunization registries, medical charts, and parent interviews. Information on potential confounding factors was obtained from the interviews and medical charts. We used conditional logistic regression to assess associations between ASD, AD, and ASD with regression and exposure to ethylmercury during prenatal, birth-to-1 month, birth-to-7-month, and birth-to-20-month periods.

So the research was done in a small number of children by asking questions and verifying records?

FAIL.

This do not convince that is safe to inject a suspiciuos substance in my little daughter body...

Oh really, can you present me evidence?

I did not know that keep my little child in a health diet and life style to avoid vaccines will lead her to death...

FAIL.

First child, all vaccination on time. Diagnosed with ASD.
Second child, didn't get any vaccinations, also diagnosed with ASD.
Personal experince tells me there is no link to vaccination.
And this sort of thing, frankly ticks me off to no end, as more money and 'research' will be thrown down this empty hole while real research towards cause/cure is underfunded.
These anti-vaccination nit wits are as bad as birthers, truthers and any other nutbar fringe group out there now.

This is a small sample size and there are also different forms of it. There is also a question of validity.

One of the main issues raised with vaccines is one of the ingredients called Thimerosal:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thiomersal
"Its use as a vaccine preservative is controversial, and it is being phased out from routine childhood vaccines in the United States, the European Union, and a few other countries.

Thiomersal is very toxic by inhalation, ingestion, and in contact with skin (EC hazard symbol T+), with a danger of cumulative effects."

So you have to ask why they have decided to phase out the use. Maybe because the critics were right about it's dangers?

You should tell that to the Amish community.

I've researched the Amish. Their low Autism rates are understandable considering they don't evaluate their children as often or using the same standards. An autistic child to them may simply be one who is quiet and does his or her work as expected.
