"A Montgomery County judge has ruled that mooning isn't illegal in the state. The judge said that if showing your butt is illegal, any woman wearing a thong at a beach could be charged with indecent exposure."

This story "cracked" me up. Some of you may find it a little "cheeky" but if you "ass" me, I tired off the "bumms" in government messing wh our rights! (OK I'll stop now.)

Yeah. Ok crappy jokes aside:

I was pulled over in Minnesota about 10 years ago for mooning people. Yeah. Stupid kid thing. First thing the cop said when he popped his head in the car window was "Who was providing the entertainment?"

All our hands shot up. I had to explain that it is indeed possible to moon while driving.

They never pressed charges, but man I bet that uptight bugger that called the cops on us was pissed about that.

God bless America! :usa:

Seriously, I'd rather freedom of speech issues be fought on the "silly" battlegrounds of mooning, or pornography, then let it intrude even the slightest into an area that really matters. Keep the battle way, way out there, as far as possible. Don't stop fighting, and never give up.

I'm glad to know I'm legally protected from all those people I pressed ham in the direction of when I was a teenager.

As long as mooning is a juvenile prank I think it is protected speech. If is sexual or harrassment, then it would a different story.

Because women are delicate flowers whose sensibilities need protection from ruffians?

I always thought mooning was the sole justification for carrying a gun.

His only real claim was that mooning wasn't "indecent exposure," because the butt cheeks aren't any more indecent than the tops of breasts or whatever. This ruling does not extend to saying that mooning in general is legal, but merely that it does not break the law he was charged with breaking.

Free speech?

Is this really a free speech issue?

I thought it was just a 'there's no law against it' issue.

Well his mooning was a form of communication. Thats why he was busted for it. Otherwise every plumber in the country would be jailed for public ass crackage.
