Where have all our truthers gone? Bill Smith has been gone for a month...Jamonious is AWOL...everyone else has been banned. Where will our stundies come from?
 
I've been wondering that myself. I sincerely hope Bill is OK. He's an ineducable doofus, but he's our doofus.
 
I might try get my Truther brother to join JREF if possible (assuming he still believes that stuff):)

(why the heck does the spell checker have Rutherford as an option for Truther, which is apparently incorrect?:confused:)

You could try enticing that troll on the Daily Show forums, 7 is his handle. But I think he's way too comfortable holding court there. He's got something like 3000 posts.

He'd be fun to poke with a stick if he showed up here though - he's another no planer.

The more serious question is "Do we want to continue this forum as a ritualised "rationals" v "troofers" ad hom slanging match?" because the serious debate of 9/11 matters is long past.

To keep this sort of "discussion" alive we really need another event but there are two big reasons why that path is undesirable:
1) Nobody wants another event of the scale of 9/11; AND
2) we are unlikely to get one anyway which has the foundations to support another generation of troofers.

So I think it may be time to fold the tents and............

Their task of discrediting truthers, and persuading people here that there's no point in discussing 9/11 issues any more, is complete.
 
yes, I have to agree. I have long been a proponent of keeping this subforum open, but not anymore. My suggestion is archive this place, and add a couple of threads 9/11 related to the general CT section.

I think that of the truthers that haven't managed to get themselves banned, they've grown tired of being a chew toy for the debunkers.

But not to worry, in my digging around in these threads I've noticed a pattern of bannings followed by periods of inactivity (like now) followed by an infusion of fresh woo. There should be new targets in about two weeks, if past history is an indicator.

AJM8125's right. We've had dips like this before, only to have them do a new wave a few weeks later. They'll be back. I think they just have to convince themselves that their rehashes of old arugments actually carries a measure of validity before they return.

Yep, by contrast when I first got here there was mchapman (pdoh), homeland insurgency, ULTIMA1 and Radical_Logic, who requested and got a moderated debate thread only to completely chicken out of it. Enjoy the down time, I'm sure the mods are. ;)

Yes...what happens is the latest HI or PDoh puppets get banned, so they then go into a period of inactivity, thinking they have to or it will be obious when their next sock comes along.

I suspect we will see one in the next few weeks though.

It could be a symptom of their affliction......they get periods of lucidity where they either lose interest in or doubt their truther beliefs before reverting to their delusional norm. the other possibility is that their truther persona is the relatively lucid period and they sink to a even lower state:eek:
 
I've given it some thought and decided that jammonius doesn't really believe the carp he has been dishing out here on this forum. He likes to type. He likes to argue. He likes to try to come up with some sort of rationalization in response to any and all comers.

But he does not truly believe that engines are hubcaps, plane sounds are buses, people would react with horror and dive for the ground at the sound of a plane 1500 feet away, or any of the other myriad of bizarre statements he has attempted to pass off here. It's all a put on, and as far as I'm concerned the jig is up on that. :)
