Mike Huckabee says, Hitler believed in GOD
Ok so he didn’t say it exactly like that but here’s the deal.
Huckabee is producing some history cartoons that are made to perpetuate the “conservative point of view”.
And they are completely insipid.
The one about ww2 starts off with
“Germany is ordained by _________ to rule the world”
IS IT DARWIN no no no no
IS IT Nietzsche no no no no
IS IT SATAN no no no no
IT’s GOD

Germany is ordained by GOD to rule the world
At least according the this badly done animation
AHHH wait Mike, we fundamentalists believe that Hitler and Nazis were god less, I mean why else would someone do evil things, right, right.

I couldn't separate fact from sarcasm in your post, so I became distracted and never bothered learning what the heck you were talking about.

Better luck next thread.

Can’t separate sarcasm from facts in my post, hmmmm.
You know my wife some times says the same thing,
If it’ll make feel better I’ll work on it, hows that?

Try the youtube link
that would be the point of a post that mentions an animated video,to you know watch the video.

can't watch your vid.:(
so, what's the point you are trying to make, please?

So someone thinks Hilter believed in God.
This is news?

I believe the issue is the cartoon makes the "Germany is ordained by God to rule the world" a direct quote. I am fairly confident Hitler never said that in public.

There are other issues like "Extra extra US declares war on Japan and Germany" No they didn't declare war on Germany

Well, I, for one, am outraged. Outraged! I tell you.

Ok, not so much. Everyone knows that Hitler, at the very least, believed in a higher power and used Christianity to further his own dreams of racial purity.

Really, he was just an ******* and Christianity was one of many tools he used to manipulate the masses. In the end, it really doesn't matter whether he did or didn't believe in the Christian god, only that he used people's belief in that god to his own nefarious means. That, in my opinion, is what should be focused on when people begin mentioning how Hitler was evil and debating whether he was god-fearing or not. Who cares if he, himself, was. The fact that the masses who carried out his holocaust were believers is evidence enough of the dangers of religion and it's associated group-think.

He might not have said it, but he surely wrote it in a book that was published and sold in high numbers (even if not read by all the good "Nazis").

If you want to be taken somewhat seriously, do not start any thread title with "Mike Huckabee says", or use the words 'god' or 'hitler' except with derision.

So, who are we bashing here? Hitler, Huckleberry or God?

One or another of us is good to go on any of the three, I'm sure, if someone'll just tell me which.

The cartoon claims he made the statement during a speech in Munich in 1932. He never made a public speech in Munich that year

One is dead, one alive, and one never existed.

All are evil, whether in reality (first two) or as imagined by the deluded and twisted (last one) [paraphrasing Captain Hammer, "It's the religious", for those of you who are inclined to deliberately misunderstand].

I suggest that we go after all three at once. Pick your favorite, mock away, and remember to have fun.

I think I get it:

Hitler believed in God
Hitler is evil
ergo, God is evil !!!

but wait, there's more...

Hitler had an Oliver Hardy mustache
Oliver Hardy was a laugh riot
ergo, Hitler was a laugh riot !!!

In the next cartoon Huckabee explains how Hitler was a victim of liberal media bias.

Fair enough. I didn't bother watching the cartoon. *shrug* :D

Thats alright my eyes are still burning from the encounter - Hitler was never overtly direct with his comments about God and the destiny of Germany.

May God Almighty give our work His blessing, strengthen our purpose, and endow us with wisdom and the trust of our people, for we are fighting not for ourselves but for Germany.

Is a good example from a 1933 speech. It is implied in all its glory, and you could probably read the intent pretty easy

No disagreement here. As I posted above, I think far too much emphasis is put on Hitler himself when the focus should be on those who, unquestionably, claimed that their god was on their side while attempting to systematically kill a people based solely on race/ethnicity/religious beliefs/what-side-of-an-arbitrary-line-they-were-born-and/or-lived-on.
