Michelle Bachmann:"We are in the last days."

Yes, this is exactly the kind of person we need in the oval office with her finger on the button.

Bachmann says in dealing with Iran, diplomacy "is our option", but that other options, including a nuclear strike, shouldn't be taken off the table.

Aaaah, she is a true Christian crusader. The atheists will benefit too with that theist-infested Iran turned to glass.

This morning, I read about someone (maybe Rick Perry's Pastor?) who said the end of times will happen in the lifespan of people alive right now. That's really a broad time span. Anywhere from RIGHT NOW to a hundred or so years from now.

I'm more worried that Bachmann thinks that what is taught in public schools should be "decided at the local level." That's just *cough cough creationism cough* crazy talk.

Not a good person and at the level of a Sarah Palin.
I don't subscribe to their form of so-called Christianity and consider theirs to be the False Prophet of Revelation which will be thrown into the Lake of Fire at the Last Judgement, along with the Beast and the Image of the Beast .

So are we still in the last days or are we in the last days again? I just can't keep up. :boxedin:

I think this is just a continuation of the end days that have been going on for 2000 years.

1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Revelation 1

Apparently fundies are incapable of discerning between days, years, and millenia.

Back in 2006, Michelle Bachmann was convinced we were in the last days. Apparently the word "days" means "years."

"Lord, the day is at hand. We are in the last days" and "The day is at hand, Lord, when your return will come nigh."

Hasn't everyone who's ever been in the Oval Office been that kind of person?

Yes, I recall the instant re-assurement of hearing that Reagan, talking up an arms race with an increasingly unstable Soviet Union, had mused "Sometimes I wonder if we aren't in the last days".

I wonder if she still thinks this.

If you really believed that the Last Days were upon us, why would you want to be PotUS? I think if the Last Days were really upon us, being in charge would be just a tad bit more stressful that if it were just any old regular days.

Why? You could be pretty sure that, however bad you screwed up, it would matter very little in the long run.

Maybe to ensure the Tribulation Force has all the resouces it needs.

Man, that's a lot of words to say "delusional." :boggled:

There is a VERY good reason why a dangerous demented fundamentalist christian like her might want to become the USA president...... it is to accelerate events and bring about Armageddon to initiate the SECOND COMING of Jesus.

Also being the president means she gets to be whisked away to shelters and thus would be safe (and her family) even if Jesus does not come back after all the mayhem.

So...in her warped mind... it is a win-win situation.

You really cannot underestimate the extent to which these morons actually BELIEVE in the literal truth of the bible and especially its “prophecies” and among these especially the ones in Revelation. They REALLY believe that Jesus will not come back until all the horrendous horrors described in Revelation take place.

We as atheists may not appreciate the EXTENT of FAITH these people have….it is almost not within our ability to properly appreciate. Which in my opinion is the reason we will LOSE. They WILL SUCCEED in grabbing the reins of power of this country fully and utterly….. they have the will, means, determination and manpower to do it.
