(Apologies if this is in the wrong forum...)

I see that Uri Geller has been listed as a potential witness for Michael Jackson in Jackson's trial. And here I was thinking "Gosh, this trial isn't going to be quite circus-like enough". I guess Geller could try and make a jury member's watch stop or something.
Just another brush stroke to the Dali-esque picture...

It's more like Hieronymus Bosch. :(

Uri Geller is a potential witness for the defense, is he?

[tongue in cheek]

Heh. If Uri's Curse[tm] works as well in the courtroom as it does for football, Michael Jackson's gonna get the death penalty. Poor guy, he's screwed and the trial hasn't even started yet.

Uri Geller persuaded Michael Jackson to do the documentary with Martin Bashir.

The documentary with Martin Bashir instigated this entire set of child abuse charges.

And Michael wants him as a witness!

I guess Michael has never heard of Exeter football club.

(ETA: Oops, I see Moose has already pointed this out)

Defense attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. also named two of Jackson's children, Paris and Prince Michael. Possible prosecution witnesses included Debbie Rowe, their mother.

Other possible witnesses included Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Chris Tucker, former child actor Corey Feldman, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and younger brother Aaron, CBS correspondent Ed Bradley, CNN's Larry King, Fox broadcaster Rita Cosby, New Age guru Deepak Chopra, illusionist Uri Geller, illusionist David Blaine, Las Vegas tycoon Steve Wynn and relatives of the late Marlon Brando.

Who is Deepak Chopra?

Do a search on Amazon.com for him. He's written a ton of new age garbage.

According to a recent interview (with Martin Bashir, no less), apparently Corey Feldman is going to be a witness for the prosecution.

I'm now listening to Roe Conn on WLS radio Chicago (ABC affiliate).

Conn, mimicking Jackson's voice (as he has done before), just described Geller as "that mentalist who, you know, bends spoons with his fingers". :D

Although I cant remember the source I did read that Uri Gellar was never actually a friend of David Blaines,he tried to latch onto the magician's success when he was in the UK.Trying to contact him at the hotel and going to wave at him in his box near tower bridge.Gellar is a leech, anything for publicity. As he is psychic he must know the outcome of the trial, and therefore why is he attending. If he "sees" Jacko getting off then his evidence isnt needed..if he goes down ,his evidence will make no difference.;)

I always find that you can’t really do better than get a delusional liar to appear in court for a case that will determine whether you live the rest of your life a free man or a convicted child abuser/molester.

Yet they still call him ‘Wacko Jacko’? ;)

Actually if you listen to some of the stiff Gellar is coming out with regarding Jackson it is clear he is not entirely sure about the man. He seems very reluctant to state that Jackson is totally innocent of the crimes and will be found not-guilty.

What he is actually saying is that he thinks Jackson is a very innocent kind of man and that if he is found guilty then his (Gellar's) faith in human nature will have been destroyed.

Very clever Uri - is this another trick?

Your right about the Blaine thing though – I’ve heard he can’t stand Mr Gellar.

I can't see Uri making the stand at all. Neither side wants a patent fraudster on their team.

Of course, if he DOES testify, it will probably be as a character witness, and I understand they opposition can cross-examine in order to dispute that. So it will be fascinating to see Uri undergoing such an examination under oath. He'll either have to admit he's a petty crook, or he will make up the usual unbelievable crap that will onlt help send MJ to prison for a loooooong time. Either way, he's a cooked goose if he walks on that stand.

So I don't think he will appear at all.

More's the pity, it would have been delicious!

From what I understand the defense list is longer than what they really intend. The idea being that the other side has to
spend lots of time running around investigating lots of people so it cannot spend to much time on the ones that are really going to testify.

Then it won't take much time to cross HIM off the list of useful candidate witnesses! :D
