Now I really enjoyed The Passion of the Christ. I also praised Mel Gibson. However, I have now learned what his true beliefs are. You see previously I assumed he was a true Christian but now I think he's a blind member of the catholic cult.

There is no salvation for those outside the (Catholic) Church.

This is not true. You do not even need to go to Church to be Saved! All you have to do is accept Christ and your Savior, repent for your sins, and live your life according to God's will.

Also this disturbed me:

But that is a pronouncement from the chair. I go with it.

NO! This can NOT be allowed. The understanding of His Word should be between you and The Holy Ghost. That's it. You must let The Holy Ghost guide you as you read and understand His Word. If you study HARD and HARDER His Word will start to speak to you. It's a Glorious experience. I wonder, has Mel Gibson ever had this experience of His Glory? I do not think so because if he did he wouldn't be saying such absurd things.

Well not really remeber he doesn't accept the second vatican concil and quite a few other things.

Your both radical christians, that would both say that the other isn't following the proper path.

Simple professional rivalry. 1inchCrist cannot accept that anybody might be holier than him. Or even worse, that somebody's religion could be truer (the horror!).

No, in your unlimited vanity, you think that YOUR idea to the true religion is the only one valid. Did you know that vanity is a mortal sin?

1inchCrist, you are vain, self-righteous, and you pass judgement on others. You read and interpret scripture like a Pharisee. Jesus is weeping over you.

I'm not radical and he is wrong because he assumes you have to go to his Church to be Saved.

I'm an almost extinct species. What is that species? A true Christian. These people who are slaves to their Churches and the Pope are not real Christians. They have not truely felt His Glory if they still think Church is signifigant in any way to your relationship with Him.

"I'm not radical"...Well, that's a understament.

Last night I studied HARD and HARDER for about 1.5 hour, and His Word was speaking to me in a female voice all the time! It was a Glorious experience!

No, you are not a true Christian. That requires tolerance and humility. It requires that you let GOd make judgement, not you.

You are a self-righteous Pharisee. Read your Bible. And weep.

To offer a bit of 'Eric Cartman' prose:

CRIPPLE FIGHT!

:p

This sort of thing often occurs when one Christian picks on another Christian in regards to the proper interpetation of their respective mythologies.

Enjoy the show!

What Diogenes said.

What exactly did you enjoy? The torture? The gore? Do you usually enjoy watching people get tortured for two hours?

Perhaps it's the negative portrayal of the Jews he enjoys.
Now see, here's a part of the christian dogma that I could never get my head around (just one of a great many). Jesus was sent to Earth to be sacrificed for the sins of mankind, and without the Jews he wouldn't have been crucified, which means that his mission would have failed. So the Jews must surely have been following God's master plan, and should therefore be praised for their vital role in bringing about the necessary death of Jesus.

But christians hate them for it. Jews are sometimes referred to as God killers.

If everyone at the time had accepted Jesus as the messiah then he wouldn't have been put to death and would have been unable to take on the sins of all mankind, so we'd all be damned to eternal hellfire, although if they'd all accepted him they wouldn't, except that he had to die before they could......

Oh crap, my head hurts!

Yeah, really - I went to see it with 8 friends when it came out. As I recall, 1 of us walked out crying (the catholic), 5 came out disgusted (blood and gore!), and the last 3 came out laughing (blood and gore!). I was in the middle group. :)

No Christian has ever explained to me why Jesus had to die in order to let everybody into heaven. Why couldn't he just do it while he was still alive?
