It is with shame and humiliation that I must ask you to cancel my claim as stated in my application. After having done several double-blind tests I must confess that my claim was apparently based on self-delusion. I should have heeded dear Mr. Randi's advice/warning before mailing you my application; I could have avoided bothering you with yet another silly claim!
It is a very couragious and dignified way to back out of a claim, and we can hope that he will join the ranks of the skeptics in the future!

Just off hand, that's two dowsers who withwdre after testing themselves properly. Does this happen often? Kramer?

Our friend Mike Guska ("Edge") could learn a thing or two from this guy.

No, but it does happen every now and then. Most dowsers are absolutely convinced of their powers, and about half of all our dowsing applicants do re-apply after the mandatory 12-month waiting period, in an attempt to prove this year what they were unable to prove last year.

Most applicants say "Yes, I have tested myself", but then decline to offer details on said testing. Many say, "I am fully confident that I will pass your test", or, "You've just found the one true psychic you've been looking for all these years", etc etc etc.

To have two in a row withdraw is very unsusual, though, I must admit. I predict that they will both be back.
