Low Level Laser Therapy

My doctor used to use one. Neither my wife or I found any effect at all from it. The concepts behind it a pretty weak also (the light cannot possibly get deep enough to affect the pains it is supposedly blocks/repairs).

Nor did I. I also found references to double blind studies which just proved the null hypothesis. But anyway, placebo effect can be helpful sometimes. What worries me is the price (I estimate the manufacturing costs at about 100 Euro) and the scieence babble at their homepage. They are also selling that "electrolytic footbath"

sheesh.

But this is the special WOO H9000 635nM 5mW laser - special neuromotor model for medical professionals only!!

Seriously - in our law in Austria there is (IIRC) a paragraph called "Verkürzung über die Hälfte" (shortening over half of the value- laesio enormis) which gives a buyer the rights to cancel a business if he/she can prove that the object she/he bought is worth less than half of the price.
I wonder if there is a possibilty....

Anybody here with profund legal knowledge?

Sounds similar to the WARP 10 LED array. Apparently endorsed by NASA, in some fashion, and with some actual evidence to show, and a proposed biochemistry mechanism. There are a few similar devices also using LED arrays, sold as alternatives to heating pads.

However, paying 7000 Euro for a 5 mW laser is a scam, unless she bought it something like 30 years ago. They are FDA compliant, but to quote what they are regulated for
Adjunctive use in providing temporary relief of minor chronic neck and shoulder pain of musculoskeletal origin.

Adjunctive use in providing temporary relief of minor chronic pain associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS).
