Just finished reading Love by Toni Morrison.
I enjoyed it but certainly not as much as I've enjoyed some of her other novels.
Without giving away any of the plot:
This work felt "over-written", somehow. The characters were compelling. And the shifting narrative voice was effective.
I especially enjoyed the exploration of the different manifestations of love (from friendship to lust to family to self-love) and the impact of betrayal on love.
I was dissatisfied with the ending. It felt rushed and incomplete.
Anyone else read Love ? Your thoughts?
Next, I shall read The Final Confession of Mabel Stark by Robert Hough.
