“A Skeptic Goes to Washington”

If you are skeptical about whether God exists -- or if you feel certain one does but support the rights of Americans who don't share that belief -- you will be appalled at what some members of Congress have been attempting to do (especially regarding science) in the name of their deity.
For the past two and a half years, Lori Lipman Brown has served as the first Congressional lobbiest expressly representing nontheistic Americans. Brown will report on the attacks on science, the spending of federal funds on religion, and the atmosphere for nontheists in the U.S. created by the recent focus on dividing up Americans based on theological beliefs. She will also provide tips on what we can do to protect our secular government.
Lori Lipman Brown is a lawyer, educator, and former Nevada State Senator. She currently serves as director of the Secular Coalition for America, the only organization whose focus is Congressional lobbying on behalf of nontheistic Americans.
