Don't know if anyone's tried this, but I love it. For $10 a month, I get access to almost a million books on my Kindle.

But you can only have 10 books on a device at one time. Still, I'm loving it. There are history books that retail for over $15 that I get for free, read in a few days, than delete off my device. Some pretty good fiction books too (Wayward Pines Trilogy was a (free) pleasant surprise and I guess Fox is making a series out of it).
 
I thought about getting it, but I noticed that only books are available.

If they included some newspapers and magazines, then I would be inclined to try it, but since I already have plenty of books on my Kindle and I am already paying for two newspaper and one magazine subscription, then I have decided not to use the 'Unlimited' tool.
 
Is it the same selection as the Prime lending library? I looked when I bought my prime membership and was very underwhelmed

So by reading at a rate of 10 books a month, you're paying an average of $1 per book. I'm not saying that it's not a good deal, just pointing out that they're not actually free.

I know it's a minor nitpick, but it's sort-of like someone boasting that just by paying the entrance fee at an all-you-can-eat buffet, they get all kinds of "free" food once they're inside. In this case, it's an all-you-can-read buffet.

We'll of course you were... The illuminati demanded the selection made MY stuff look good.... (Okay, you know I'm kidding right?)

I looked at it a couple of weeks ago (not that it's available over here, but out of curiosity) and initially though "ooh, unlimited books". Then I realised I only get through a book a week...at best.
 
Looks like it's out in UK now, £7.99 per month. Includes some audiobooks

I suspect the real benefit would be if you'd like to try a lot of "iffy" books, without spending a lot of money. New authors are always a gamble, but this would mean you could try lots for very little incremental cost. If it sucks, just delete it and get another.
 
It's not exactly unlimited, you are limited to ten books at any one time. But still well worth it.
 
I emailed Amazon a concern about their policy of apparently accepting any selfpublished work for Amazon Unlimited. A awful lot of Neo Nazi and White Surpemists crap has been showing up lately.
 
I've got about 50 Kindle books I've yet to read, and that number seems to be increasing, so I doubt I'd get value from Kindle Unlimited, while I'm still working, at least.

I like it. There are quite a few books that are "Narrated" which just means they offer the audiobook as part of the subscription. I drive often for work, so this is a great deal to me.
