I just received my Kindle DX and I plan to use it almost exclusively to read pdf documents from the web.

First I have downloaded a few books preview from Amazon and found that reading on this media is a real pleasure.

But I did not had the same success with my pdf documents.

My problem seems to be with translating pdf documents to .mobi (same as azw). I lost all formatting, centered lines are not centered anymore, bad line wrap and in the Kindle menu, I do not have access to the many font size available to ebooks downloaded from amazon. I only have access to the 150% - 200% zooming features like in Acrobat.

I have converted files with mobipocket and calibre with the same bad result.

Has anyone experienced file conversion for the Kindle ?

If I do not get to read pdf files while keeping their original format I will ask for a refund for my Kindle. I have 3 weeks to find a solution.

Thanks

The Kindle DX has native pdf support. You don't need to convert.
I know about the claimed pdf support, but the problem is that with the native pdf support you cannot change the font size while reading (which you can do with amazon ebooks). You only have zoom capability which is not very interesting when reading a document.

So you must convert a pdf document to mobi or .azw to have control over font size. But I could not make it right yet. Not sure if it is even possible.
