Imagine a man beats you with a table leg and a metal belt-buckle. Tries to microwave your head.

Imagine he does this for 18 hours straight and continues even when you vomit blood.

Imagine he only eases off when you begin to bleed from your ear.

Imagine when the minimum sentence he is handed is 4 years 3 months.

How is this justice?

The UK's judges need get a wake up call- scum like this should never be allowed to walk the streets again.

Can you explain why he's only serving 4 years? The first paragraph of the article says:

A man who tortured his girlfriend and tried to microwave her head during a vicious 18-hour attack has been jailed for life.

Sentencing Ravenscroft to life for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, Judge Adrian Lyon described him as "vicious" and said he would serve a minimum of four years and three months.

Which does seem a bit quick to be coming up on parole for a life sentence....

Generally, in the UK these days minimum sentence = Maximum sentence.

Hmmm, a backward minded, anti-freedom fundy, decrying a "backward" judicial system. Where have we heard that before?

It's almost funny; Richard G simultaneously encapsulates the best reason for and against a gun ban. If it's one thing bin Laden has shown it's that fundies shouldn't have access to guns, but at the same time, the rest of us need them to defend against their fundamentalism and anti-freedom ideals.
