Just Saw Randi Live

I had the pleasure of attending the lecture Randi just gave at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

I wish I had another set of thumbs. Two thumbs up just doesn't seem enough.

I especially appreciated his positive view of life and the world. And they say that skeptics are negative... hah!

I really hope the Amazing One will be back in these neck of the woods soon!

It was a pretty interesting lecture although some of it was a bit old. On the other hand some things need to be repeated so I'd say two thumbs up too.

I'll just add to say that the place was packed and everyone seemed to had a good time.

cool, he's a lot funnier and happier than when he's been on Larry King opposite Sylvia. I was scared to meet him the first time as I thought he's start yelling and looking scornfully. That man has a STARE! But he was so sweet and nice....Pool Boy got totally jelous.

Well, Groo is right - some of the stuff was old, but there's just something about Randi's presence (maybe it's his aura ). I had a great time. The guy really has a knack for comedy - and his message is always important. I found it very disturbing to learn that Peter Popoff is back in business. This deamon haunted world truly dearly needs its Randis...

Again, I truly find Randi's positive outlook on life and living in the real world inspiring. I would much rather join Randi and Sagan and go to the stars (as suggested by Mr. Randi) than to revert into the caves with the likes of Popoff and Geller.

You're right though. I really would like to attend the Amazing Meeting. But alas, there's only so much time and so much money...

And besides Claus, I'm confident that you will be a most eminent representative for Scandinavian skepticism at TAM2!

Hah! You could try - always great fun to out-drink a Dane.

You guys have clearly gone soft on the continent - whilst we other Scandinavians still need the State to protect us from our liquor. Because of our rugged Nordic nature we would otherwise be able to imbibe enormous quantities of alcohol - something you Danes clearly cannot handle anyway (thus no State monopoly on alcohol in Denmark). Can't argue with that, Claus. It's simple logic.

Anyhoo - this got me thinking. There are several Scandinavian organizations for Skeptics, but to my knowledge there is no Pan-Scandinavian or Nordic skeptic organization. I wonder why that is - there should at least be an "umbrella organization" for the various national associations. I would certainly fork up the money to go to Nordic "Amazing Meetings"...
