Wow, I'm still researching the Jackie Barrett article and I came across this podcast from another "brilliant psychic medium" Joseph Tittel. He did a cold reading over the phone that was so bad that it's comical.

I just listened to the first reading and didn't need to hear anymore.
Here's the basic rundown:
A woman named Joan asks for a reading. She says that her lost her dad in 99, then her son, one of her best friends and her mother in 2006. She wants to know if her loved ones are okay and if she's going to have a love come into her life.
Tittel: the family members are always with us and always in our hearts. [Duh]
Q: Did someone have an odd disease?
A: No.
Q: A blood disease?
A: No.
Q: Any questions about how these folks passed?
A: No.
She says that one had diabetes, which Joseph takes as a hit on the blood disease question.
Q: Did someone have a problem with their legs? [How vague can that question be?]
A: Yes.
Q: What does December mean?
A: My birth month. [Could have been any of the other people's birth months, could have been that Christmas was special to them, a wedding anniversary, when one of them died, etc. There is no way he could be wrong.]
Q: What do humming birds mean to you?
A: Nothing. She has cardinal figurines, but no hummingbirds.
And here's a golden slice of woo: "The crazier it is to me the more I know it fits."
Tittel: Hummingbirds are a connection with your family and loved ones. [Even if there was no connection when they were alive]
Q: Did someone have an aneurysm?
A: An uncle had a stroke years ago.
Q: A head injury?
A: Husband fell out of a window. Son had seizures.
Then he states that the seizures are linked to his earlier guess that someone had a disease that doctor's couldn't quite figure out.
Q: Significance of the 11th?
A: Nothing.
Tittel tells her to write it down and think about it later, lol.
Q: Who is Jim?
A: One of her uncles who has died.
Q: Who is another "j" name that's deceased?
A: Dad's middle name was "Joseph".
He finishes up by telling her that all of her loved ones are chilling on the other side, utterly at peace.
So a whole slew of misses and utterly vague hits. If only he had John Edward's ability to edit out the misses in post-production.
