Oh My Ed!
I have put down, "Why don't we have JOE NICKELL?" in the TAM wish list....twice! I adore this man. I have his books. His writing got me to sleep in a haunted (by rats!) cemetary. I have "solved" a haunted house mystery using what I learned from his books. I have reccomended his books over and over on the forum. His books are wonderful! Kids love his books, and he has also written wonderful books for young children. On top of it he's on tv a lot, and I always enjoy his voice of reason on a woo woo show. He even did champy recently! He'll take on even the little haunts, just because frequently people once they know what's making the mystery footsteps (as in Canada) they will change their thinking. (It was a town house and the staircase next door was being used at night).
Anyway, I reccomend you all get his books (the library should have them, but buying them is nice), if not for yourself, think of a young person that you would like to introduce to critical thinking (include a few of Randi's books too!).
Also, Joe Nickell wrote a chapter for a book about why people became involved in the skeptic movement. Guess who he credited? The AMAZING Randi! and I think that is the most AMAZING thing about Mr.Randi! His magical ability to get people involved and excited about the skeptic movement.
