I wasn't sure if this was for real, or parody, but on reading I reckon it's for real.

I also wan't sure whether it belongs here or in the Politics forum.
It's full of interesting stuff, a lot of it smoke and mirrors to hide the things that AREN'T said. For example in the section on "Jewish myths on Islam" there is a page "Myth: Islam degrades women" http://www.jews-for-allah.org/jewish-mythson-islam/degrades-women..html
here it states

but fails to state where these alien traditions come from.

Generally it is cultural traditions rather than ones dictated by Islam. The rights and treatment of women can vary significantly from one Islamic nation to another, compare Afghanistan, U.A.E, Saudi Arabia and Egypt for example. In those countries there are differences in whether women can work, go to school, vote, what they can and cannot wear etc. Some of it is due to interpretation of scripture, but some of it is due to shoehorning scripture to prop up whatever tribal/cultural traditions exist.

I don't tend to think of Islam as a converting religion. But I guess the days of conquest are long gone, and of course, when I think about it, most of Islam's converts are are due to persuasion, not force.

With ref: Jews for Allah - Is Judaism a rich hunting ground for Islam, on theological grounds? Or does history, politics and nationalism outweigh?

I thought Afganistan was one of the best countries in the world for women's rights until the Taliban took over. It was a Muslim county before and after, so the degrading women was a choice by the Taliban leadership and nothing to do with Islam as practiced by most people.

"Afghanistan" is a rather artificial beast, mapped out as a buffer-zone by the Brits and Russians in the 19thCE. The Pashtun/Baluchi element has always objectified and oppressed women, before Islam and after Afghanistan. They were the main opposition to modernising influences emanating from Kabul that eventually led to the Soviet fiasco. The Turkic and Iranian elements have always been more enlightened (which doesn't necessarily say much).
