Zach Johnson said Jesus was with him the entire (final) round.

I think there is a PGA rule about playing with an omnipotent creature - who is not your caddy.

yes i heard that....

"God was with me" one of those statements you can look at two ways after someone's won something

either as a rather humble, self-deprecating statement - effectively defering praise....

or as an incredibly ego-centric statement which effectively says to the rest of the field - "hey i'm God's chosen one! God just loves me more than you guys."

it depends how you want to see it :)

I didn't realize Jesus was at the Masters. He was one first people to wear the green jacket. Leonardo eternalized Jesus in the Green Jacket at the 19th hole surrounded by 12 other compeitors drinking wine. It was thought Jesus died in the second round. He was getting crucified but he came back to win. No one thought he would recover when his caddy Judas switched to Arnald Palmer but his wife Mary Maggdelan, a famous model took over,

Maybe I came at this all wrong. Since the only person seen with Zach the entire round was his caddy. And he said Jebus was with him the entire round. Maybe his caddy is our Lord! Someone contact GodSend!

Even with Jebus' help he couldn't manage to break par. Some of the other guys were only a stroke back without Jebus helping them at all.

Gee, one would think Jesus had better things to do on Easter weekend. I know He gets His birthday off, I would think He gets the anniversary of His weekend in Hell off too.

Christians and Muslims (brother religions) are the only ones I can think of who belittle god like they do.

When you win an Academy Award or a sporting event - to claim that God personally helped you rather than the other guy is gloriously spiteful.

I can't wait until one day someone steps up to the microphone and says, "I'd like to thank the Lord Of Success, Ganesha, that elephant-headed Hindu god. He was with me the entire time. I couldn't have done it without him."

I'm thinking maybe Vishnu. With those four arms, he could have just about any club ready. Plus the walking on water thing could come in handy on many courses.

"I'd like to thank Vishnu, - the All-Pervading essence of all beings, the master of and beyond the past, present and future, the creator and destroyer of all existences, the one who supports, sustains and governs the Universe and originates and develops all elements within - he handed me a 5-iron on the 13th hole - I thought he was crazy - but it was the perfect club."

The rule in question would be by the USGA and R & A. ;) Something about outside agency . . .

Did you actually watch the TV broadcast of the Masters, and hear what Zack had to say, or are you passing around something you heard?

All I heard him say after Phil put the green jacked on him, in his long list of "thank you" remarks, was something about glorifying God.

Didn't hear anything about "Jesus was with me."

He thanked his wife also, though she didn't carry the bag. He thanked his three month old son, who was no help with club selection. He thanked his mom and dad, and his brother and sister, none of whom read any of his putts. He thanked his caddy, and gave him a shout out and a wave on national TV. Johnson said his caddy was a better golfer than he is. Humble lad, that Johnson kid. I'd like to see a few more professional athletes said quality.

Was the quote you attribute to him from a Monday after the Masters interview?

Here's what he said:

I had some people looking after me today," Johnson said after he finished the 18th hole Sunday. "Being Easter, my faith is very important to me. "I felt Jesus, I felt my grandfather, my family, everybody," he said, his voice shaking. "So it was awesome."
