• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

I'm revisiting Hell at this moment.

Once I had this problem when one day I opened youtube and I couldn't load videos anymore because of some random Flash incompatibility. This was when I had a PC. I am now owner of a Mac and tonight it has just happened again.

I had been viewing youtube videos for quite a while. At some point, I tried to load the youtube page and it wouldn't load. I figured, they were having some technical issues. I kept navigating and then when I revisited again a few minutes later, I got this message

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

I haven't done ANYTHING to my computer. Again, this has been in a matter of minutes and the only thing I've done is browse the JREF site and my e-mail.

Why in Hell does this happen?
Why again?????

He came back?

Oh, I see it's about computers, I thought you were announcing the Rapture.

I'm not sure--maybe Youtube has updated Flash on their end, so you need to do the same? I would suggest downloading the latest Flash, and also make sure you've run Software Update (for OS X).

Another reason this may have happened: Jesus is mad at you for blaspheming...

I have to say this the first time I have seen anyone complain about NOT getting to see YouTube....

...snip...

This is impossible since you have a Mac!

Slightly more serious - have you tried the usual steps, emptying the browser's cache, clearing out cookies and so on? Or tried a different browser?

I own a Mac (OSX 4.11) having a Flash Incompatibility problem as well.

Where do you go to download the latest version of the Flash software and what are the system requirements? (Is OSX 4.11 acceptable)

Oh boy :o

I kinda built this thread and then completely forgot about it.

See, the first time this happened (When I had a PC), I had obviously tried downloading the flash player and installing it but it would have no effect. So when this happened again, it didn't even cross my mind.

But then, immediately after I created this thread, I uploaded the youtube website again and tried downloading the flash. And of course, it worked. It worked because I have a Mac.

So I guess that makes this thread a cadaver now.

I uh....

Ok tell you what. You guys have your PC vs Mac fight. I'll... drop by every once in a while to see how things are going.

What, you don't want to refight a war that's been done a gazillion times already? Whasa matter wit ya?
The French got tired after three iterations, seems computer geeks have more staying power, or perhaps more power ups to keep fighting.

At least the Flash Player experience is consistently ****** on every single platform it runs on. Truly a cross-platform product.
