James Thurber's The Thirteen Clocks

Has anyone else read this modern fairy tale? I believe it's been out of print for years, and it took me ages to find a copy in the pre-internet days.

I started re-reading it again last night. It's not easy to categorize and the illustrations are by Marc Simont, not Thurber. Creepy.

It scared my wife and her brothers pretty well back when they were young.

I own a copy (from my mother, it was one of her favorite books). I also quite like it.

One of my favorite books, too. A few years ago my wife tried to find a copy for my birthday, and was unable to do so, except for a book on tape.

One of my favorite lines, and very wise: "Never trust a spy you cannot see."

Amazon lists a number of used copies. They're fairly pricey.
