James Randi's challenge an illusion

Anyone who claims to have paranormal abilities is simply disregarded and called a nut or an idiot by this arrogant wannabe, despite his claim. The disclaimer at the end of his entry form is a dead giveaway. He never had any intention of honoring his claim that he would pay out that money. It obviously isn't his to give away and he has been ordered to refuse all entrants to the so-called challenge.

I think my brain just cramped. Talk about an attack: "if you don't come to my place (do as I say) it means you aren't going to let anyone win (if I don't win you're a cheat)." I think my brain's cramping again. I'm going to go read more of "Flim Flam" to massage my mind.

After digging around on the link you gave, my head started aching Tressa-style and I had to leave. But just in case anyone is interested, here is a link to believers who think that JREF is a 'cult' (this is the most combative, disagreeable cult I've ever heard of...) and that Randi just fails to see the 'magic' in life...

Gah.

Gah.

Tressa, pass me that Excedrin, please.

Click his link for a good laugh. He saw god, a cross in the sky. His proof? poetry and music, I kid you not. Bad poetry, to boot! And he copyrighted it as if anyone would steal it!

Another example of what overblown self-importance, lack of education and ignorance can do.

Next.

Yeah, I saw one too. But it was upside down. Thought it was cool enough to post a picture of it, but simply because it was pretty. And odd.

(passes FSM excederin...several excederin)

Well, cult is short for occult which means secret so perhaps this person is just upset that he can't figure out the secret to clouds.

I write good poetry. Maybe I'm god. Obviously not or that person's website would've crashed by now.

The picture looks like a dolphin diving to me.

Claiming the Million Dollar Challenge is a fraud? That's so original!

Oh noes! Somebody is claiming the Million Dollar Challenge is a fraud! I had never considered that possibility before and now my mind is blown. My earthview is shattered. This completely ruins all of my plans for today. Whatever will we do‽

I don't see an argument in the OP. Just some allegations and an external link. Is there an argument presented at that external site or just more allegations?

The OP isn't clear on which disclaimer at the end of the application is being referred to. Could it be the disclaimer: "We are only interested in an actual demonstration"? Or is the paragraph at the very end relevant.

The OP and the link it provides not only proves that there's a God, bu that He has a sense of humor....

Anyone who claims to have paranormal abilities is simply disregarded tested and called a nut or an idiot...
...once it has been demonstrated that this is the case.

I don't believe the quotes were "accidentally" left out, nor that someone who has started 292 threads doesn't know how to use the quote tags. That being said, perhaps a Mod could fix the OP so that it conforms to forum rules, and no longer looks like a troll post, or worse, a troll topic.

As is clearly stated in the membership Agreement, http://www.randi.org/forum/rules.html
All quoted material should be credited to the original author or publisher and a link provided (when available) to the original work.

Obviously this post, like several others, are off topic, and perhaps related to Forum Issues, rather than talking about the topic. Except there is no topic to discuss. Just a link to another forum, and a bunch of opinions and stuff.

It is credited... The link to the site with the original content is immediately underneath the quoted text ;)

The only problem is that there are not actual quotation marks around the quoted text, and I don't think technically that's even a copyright problem... It's more just a stylistic misunderstanding.

In everyone's defense, btw, Richard did recently change his avatar :)

Back to the topic at hand - it is amazing how many people are so very confused about the point of the Challenge and how tests are administered. Does anyone have ideas for making the Challenge operations more public, beyond just having an FAQ?

A Youtube video, maybe? A newspaper article? Ideas are welcome!

I have amended the OP and moved out posts discussing the initial confusion. None of this was punitive - it is simply to clarify this thread topic. Please remember (as per my last notice) that this forum section should remain more strictly on topic than the rest.
