of lame excuse from homeopaths.
This thread "Limits of homeopathy? Can I feel safe? " at otherhealth.com (can't paste the link, because the proxy server doesn't show that in the frame. Isn't this pathetic? Needing to use a proxy just to read their nonsense.)

"Whenever I take a remedy, I seem to get some kind of emotional outburst, followed by a levelling or improvement in my mood and sense of wellbeing. But nothing happens physically. Can't help wondering - is this pattern of mainly psychological/emotional responses common in chronic cases? Does it indicate that only the pathology has gone too far for anything to be changed? "

"On the one hand, when the mental/emotional gets better and the physical gets worse, it's following Herings direction of cure. However, I've noticed that using a Kentian approach, the cases sometimes stall at the physical level. Not all, by any means, and not even a lot. But it does happen. I think at this point, it's much better to use Boenninghausen's methodology. There are several members of the board who use it almost exclusively and may be able to give you more direction than I can.

Isn't that just brilliant. Let's repeat the good bit "On the one hand, when the mental/emotional gets better and the physical gets worse, it's following Herings direction of cure. However, I've noticed that using a Kentian approach, the cases sometimes stall at the physical level."
So, the patient feels better but is physically no different or is worse. Hmm...'stalling' at the physical level. Sounds pretty much like placebo effect to me.

"Yes, I know your hand has fallen off now, but don't you feel so much better about your problem"

And it turns out that they can point to one of their Big Books and claim this is all right, homeopathy is meant to make you feel better about being ill instead of actually getting you better.
Pure genius.
