It's almost like that kabala string dosn't work or something!

The Red String protects us from the influences of the Evil Eye. Evil Eye is a very powerful negative force. It refers to the unfriendly stare and unkind glances we sometimes get from people around us.

Reminded me of:

Apu: Sometimes I think this Karma is a lot of baloney!

Homer: mmmm....Caramel baloney...

if only I had the "moral flexability" to start my own religion or superstition, I would be rich, rich I tells ya.

It's okay. The Kabbalah water will heal her.

No it's more serious than that. Someone obviously bought the Ayin Hara scissors and has snipped her red string.

Not only does it not prevent horse riding accidents and injury, it doesn't prevent journalists from publishing unflattering pictures of her, either. :p

And I know not quite right for this section of the forum but from the The Sun piece:

Orthopaedic surgeon Leela Biant said she would also need painkillers for a fortnight and singing would be painful during that time.

Her singing will only be painful for a fortnight?! He's obviously never heard her sing!

(That has to be a deliberate double meaning sentence by the journo!)

The horse stumbled, eh? Clearly Madge should have tied some of the magic red string around his fetlock.

Still, look on the bright side - without the Mystic Twine she would certainly be dead by now.

The star was recently photographed for American Vogue on a horse with an arm around Guy.

Personally I don't like my horses to be that matey, but each to their own.

oops! Richardm beat me to it. I was gonna say that the red string should have been on the horse, since it stumbled.

Apparently, she's been riding for only about 4 months - that's a rank beginner. Someone who has ridden on/near her estate says that it's fairly rough terrain, so I guess she wasn't just strolling down a manicured bridled path. Horse stumbles badly or falls, rider comes off - can't REALLY blame any incompetence on her part. Knowing how timid beginning riders can be, it's pretty brave of her to be hacking outside of a controlled arena situation, anyway.

I remember a comment from, I believe, the late Duke of Windsor (or maybe it was Charles) that when his horse stumbled or fell when he was playing polo and he hit the ground, that because he was royalty, they somehow expected him to float gently to the ground, rather than take a fall.

I"m not a Madonna fan, but I do ride, so....
