5. Hours prior to the destruction of the Death Star, an unknown freighter was taken aboard. Survivor's accounts say that it was brought in with a tractor beam. Stormtrooper infantrymen specialized in port security swept the entire vessel repeatedly and found no signs of life. The first shift was relieved by an unknown second shift. Over the course of fifteen minutes, the detention block suffered a catastrophic security breach, carried out by two to four unidentified men in Stormtrooper uniforms. During this time, no senior officers were watching the vessel. Was this security breach orchestrated so that the final parts of the device could be unloaded?
Holovisual evidence and recordings from Rebel Headquarters at the time of the attack indicate that Luke Skywalker DEACTIVATED his targetting computer shortly before firing his proton torpedoes.
Proton torpedoes are guided by their targetting system.
They are not guided by anything else.
In order to hit the supposed "weak spot" on the Death Star from the position Luke's X-Wing was flying at, we would have to have the torpedoes make a right turn directly over the entry to the port. THIS IS WHAT IS ACTUALLY SHOWN IN THE HOLOVID FILM; PROTON TORPEDOES SUPPOSEDLY WITH --NO-- GUIDANCE SYSTEM MAKING A 90-DEGREE TURN INTO THE EXHAUST VENT.
Yet the computer targetting system that would have told the torpedoes to turn? WASN'T EVEN ON.
