Since they chose Ayn Rand was a role model. It’s not so much that they don’t like political freedom, they just think that includes the freedom to suppress others. Consequently anything that limits their suppression of others is “an unwarranted attack on their freedom”

I can't wait to see the chaos that ensues. I feel sorry for those that rely on sane, competent governance and law making down there, but for sheer entertainment value, he and the other teabaggers will be a blast to watch in action.

Really, they're just against federal laws they feel infringe upon their freedoms. Libertarians think it's A-OK for states to establish an official religion, legalize slavery, discriminate on race, gender, age, etc.

Despite how nutty Rand Paul is, he's going to have to step up his game in order to reach the jref big league, given the outstanding legacies of Sarah Palin, Michele Bachman, and Michael Badnarik, not to mention Ron Paul.
