Is it allowable to ask if something is a magic trick or a feat of endurance?

I saw on The Amazing Randi's wiki page that
"Randi was encased in a block of ice for 55 minutes".

Now that could be an impressive feat of endurance, or it could be a cunning magic trick.

I assume its the feat of endurance, but want to know if its acceptable to ask and therefore be told merely if its magic, or endurance.

(Obviously there are a few other events similiar I'd ask, if its allowable.)

Yes, it's allowable, even encouraged I think.

Regarding the specific feat you're asking about: I don't know as I have not seen it. It could have been endurance, but it could also have been a conjuror's illusion (I say that knowing at least one method for it having been done using conjuror's methods).

Apparently this feat has him entered in Guinness book of records.

I have just looked at the 1997 edition and I cannot find the record mentioned anywhere in it. Does anyone else have the Guinness book of records they can look at?
