I've been trying to get my brain around this for a while now, and maybe a few of you (including the subject of this thread) might have some insight.

Either the guy is just an over-the-top right winger, or a Eurocentric troll being facetious to try and make a point.

No offense intended here, I just feel like I missed a memo or something.

I imagine not. Recently I think he's been "winking" to the audience a little bit. Although it's possible that he's sincere-ish but he's playing up his reputation.

I sometimes get the feeling that I alone on this forum 'get' American. I laugh hysterically at not only his posts (or most of them) but also the very serious replies to them. He's one of my top-ten favorite posters.

I think American is just screwing with us. I've never bothered with him/her really, myself.

Dude's such a %#$@!^*# sometimes though. I don't know if I should laugh, roll my eyes, or both.

I find him pretty hilarious. Just imagine everything he says being said with a sarcastic tone and an eye roll.

I mean, just take his thread about living in a mansion, but he needed to buy a space heater to keep his, i dunno, maid or something warm. It's just over the top.

Trollish, yes, in a sense, cause he never winks when people get outraged and start pounding on him, but it's pretty funny how he stays in character.

There's no way he is GP; GP would get angry and lose all control when somebody contradicted him; american just keeps on with the sctick.

Sure, plenty of time he misses, but as long as you don't take what he takes as being seriously proffered, it's mostly pretty funny.

IMO.

I have read almost nothing from him, but I never thought that he was actually an American (grammar, word choice, a few other things) -- so I assumed he was just trolling.

Rob, you aren't the only one. I have been absolutely flabbergasted at how seriously many posters here react to American, when it's obvious he's a comedic genius. I too find myself cracking up at both his posts and the replies they incite.

They're just playing into his hands
:D

In my opinion, no.

I believe Jedi Knight = Ghengis Pawn = American.

One troll, many names.

I doubt he's Jedi Knight...Jedi Knight often wrote long and wordy posts, whereas American keeps it short and to the point, always.
Also, American was one of the very first people to register on the boards, and then didn't even post for nearly a year. It doesn't seem like typical Jedi Knight behavior.

If American is not sincere, could someone explain the situationist prank hidden in claiming that Elton John totally ripped off REO Speedwagon?

And his classic reply in that thread after getting confronted with the truth:

This requires more investigation. Until further notice, I'll ask that we all reserve judgement, and don't speak ill of any bands 'till we figure this out.

Even better- let's just forget the whole thing.

Here's a recent reply to Evildave:

Your attempt to regain manliness is useless. You already went on an angry rant about freedom, blood, oil, and other childish concerns that nobody cares about, except babies like you. You think women are impressed by that? Your mom's impressed by this here piece that I got, and my total coolness compared to complainers like you. I make this country great, I make it proud, and I make women have impure thoughts. You stomp your foot and cry and pout about imagined bullsh!t such as:

What the hell it THAT??? It's meaningless. You're a loser, is what it means. That's ALL that it means.

Who the f-ck is going to worry about stupid sh!t like that when NORMAL PEOPLE all have jobs to go to, kids to raise, and families to be with. God, you're 30 times - no - 5000 times the loser I ever thought you were!

Roger and I admired the following wonderful contribution, a thread titled "Six Flags Kills Guy", especially the oh-so-serious replies contained within.

He's an <strike>asshat</strike> asset to this board. He's great.

It would seem that American has done more to turn people away from the Right point-of-view than anyone else on these forums. So he's either a genius or an idiot, depending on what he really believes.

In my opinion, that statement could NOT be more UNtrue. At least not for those that have a rational basis for their 'on-the-Right' point-of-view. Those that don't have a rational basis shouldn't have such views as they too are just barking at the mirror that American puts in front of them.

It's nice to see that a low-wattage loser like "American" can have sycophants.

F-ck. They're on to me.

Nie, if you're reading this- I'll see you in the bunker. You know the coordinates.
