Invisible People

It's hard to believe, especially in these modern times. But there are large groups of people who actually believe in the existence of invisible beings who monitor their lives!! Amazing!! And if that's not incredibly fantastic enough, it is thought that the "good" beings live in the sky and that the "bad" beings live in the ground, although there are some groups who think that the "good" beings live in holes in the ground!!

The believers gather in large groups, sometimes numbering in the thousands and millions, and attempt to invoke the invisible beings to grant their wishes and put a protection spell on them. These deluded individuals even go so far as to build large structures of considerable design, often at great expense, to attract the invisible beings. The believers congregate at the structures once, sometimes more, a week for the express purpose of calling out loud the names of the invisible beings in hopes that the beings will come and possess their bodies. Many groups of believers actually don headgear or special clothes, or adopt a special hair style, to announce to all who will see them that they believe in invisible beings!! Incredible!!

The believers follow self-appointed "leaders" who claim to be able to communicate with the invisible beings. The leaders concoct stories and other diatribe, many times outright lies, all in an attempt to get the followers to give them money. And with no tangible evidence that the beings actually exist or that the "leader" actually can communicate with the invisible beings, the deceived gladly give their money to him!! Astounding, but true!!

In some instances, those who believe in invisible beings will actually kill other people at the order of their leaders, who promise them that they will be rewarded by the invisible beings for destroying the lives of others that don't also believe in invisible beings!!

And if that's not unbelievable enough, some groups of invisible being believers espouse that their invisible being is "better" than another group's invisible being, and will fight to the death anyone that says different!!

I know this is difficult to believe. But as astonishing as it may seem, it's true. I've seen them. I've also seen the buildings and have actually been in a few of them. I've even had a few invisible being believers come up to me and ask me to join their being-invocation gatherings. I'm polite in my refusal, just in case they might be of the type who will kill me. I'm not lying!!

Incredible!! Shocking!! In this day and age that there could be so many people so easily fooled!!

To be fair, I don't know of any Invisible Being Societys (IBS) at the moment that accords the 'leader' any more priviledged place at granting wishes than the members.

However, some IBS hold the peculiar notion that whenever two or more IBS members make a wish it will be done. This obviously involves some hitherto unknown definition of the word 'done'. Also, no word is given as to how confict resoloution is handled between two groups of wishers.

I've seen this conflicting group-wishing behavior at sporting events. One team makes a group wish based on a common IBS social bond and the other team does the same thing. Then the teams compete until a place kicker determines the winner.

But the practice involves some sort of group amnesthia. Because the team whose group-wish went unanswered never discuss it again and then they make the same wish next week... although their Invisible Beings clearly let them know the week before that they were not going to get any special favors. [Looking at it from their POV._ _ Ed.] It's amazing to watch.

But the leader does not grant the wish. The leader convinces the IBS members that he can faciliate the wish granting by the invisible being if the members will pay him a facilitation fee. The truly amazing part is that if the wish is granted, the members actually believe that it was a direct result of the wish having been made and that the leader actually did, indeed, facilitate it. Even more amazing is that if the wish wasn't granted, it is never discussed and the leader does not refund his facilitation fee!!

It's an incredible phenomenon!! If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would never have believed it!!

Usually in these suplications, they interject something like:

" May thy will be done . " and / or " May the best team win ... "

It seems to me that both of these outcomes, go without saying..

Particularly the former..
