Someone is claiming that 1300+ cars within a mile of the WTC spontaneously ignited.
The reason he claims is an EMP. Just ignore that stupid part.

Is there any evidence to the claim that 1300+ cars caught fire around WTC. Where were they located. When did they catch fire?
 
Cars caught on fire. But I don't know the number, or the radius around the collapsing buildings that it reached. Is this because of the pyroclastic flow that blew away from the Twin Towers as they collapsed?

I am not sure of the exact amount of cars in the parking areas and around at the time but 1300 would not be unreasonable. I believe that there may have been 1300 vehicles destroyed but just a bit of woo to think that they spontaneously combusted.
 
Yeah but all those firetrucks and police cars and helicopters were immune because of their EMPproof-NWOmods
 
That's absolutely hilarious. EMP doesn't cause damage to anything other than electrical equipment, let alone ignite fires.

Most were the cars that were damaged in fires due to falling debris while they were in parking lots near the wtc and were then towed to the FDR so they wouldn't hamper rescue efforts. For some reason Keebler woman decided they were burnt by here 1/2 mile wide space beam while they were underneath the FDR (even though it is obvious they were towed).
 
About 1400 vehicles were removed from the immediate area. Many vehicles directly adjacent to the WTC caught on fire. The "1 mile" claim comes from photos of vehicles that had been removed from the site and stored elsewhere (particularly on South Street under the FDR Drive), awaiting removal by barge to Fresh Kills via the NYC Dept. of Sanitation's temporary marine transfer station at Pier 6. Judy Wood is a big proponent of this claim, except that she says the damage was done by space beams. This is certainly in the top 10 of all stupid 9/11 claims.

I find it very difficult to even make such a short list of the most stupid truther claims, but Judy Wood would be well-represented I think!

Had there been an EMP, none of the fire radios would have survived.

As I have myself listened to an official transcript of Manhattan Fire Dispatch I know that to have been false, hence the EMP never happened.

And it would have been a whole lot more than just the fire radios, though this may get a CTers attention more than talking about all the other electronics in the area.

I can't testify to any of the other electronics. But I can testify to having heard that stream of an official copy of the fire dispatch tape, and fire radios were not shut down. Sadly, a lot of voices that were on the tape prior to each collapse were not to be heard again on it.

According to the mini-nuke supporters, the EMP was shaped just like the blast was. Oh wait, then teh cars would not have been affected. So teh EMP was specialized to only ignite cars. Yeah, that's the ticket. :D
 
all this talk of nuclear weapons and EMPs makes me want to dig out my n64 and play goldeneye :)
