From This article, updated after JREF forum members (and possibly others, I grudgingly accept) had a bit of a complain:

Dr Terry Cullen, chairman of the British Complementary Medicine Association emphasised that complementary treatments were not a cure for cancer.

Could be a handy quote to remember next time the crazier woos are out-and-about.

If memory serves, it was about this time last year that the head of the U.S. CAM department conceded that after about 10 years of funding, no positive results have been reported. I diagnose these CAM guys as having clear cases of Seasonal Affective Disorder. They should take St. John's Wort during the winter months to fend off depression.

"The personal support and the care you get is immeasurable. It gave me a lot of courage to carry on."
Patients say this a lot. I think it's very important to them. I just wish there was a way to achieve that result with honest, caring treatment which didn't involve telling them a pack of lies about energy fields.

Rolfe.
