TV Seance Claims to have Reached John Lennon

Exerpt:
The program features what is described as an Electronic Voice Phenomenon, or EVP, that a psychic on the show claims is the disembodied voice of Lennon speaking at a seance in one of his favorite New York restaurants, La Fortuna. EVP is based on a belief that spirit voices communicate through radio and TV broadcast signals.

haha, well i just have to post the lyrics from his song God

God is a concept
By which we measure
Our pain
I'll say it again
God is a concept
By which we measure
Our pain

I don't believe in magic
I don't believe in I-ching
I don't believe in Bible
I don't believe in tarot
I don't believe in Hitler
I don't believe in Jesus
I don't believe in Kennedy
I don't believe in Buddha
I don't believe in Mantra
I don't believe in Gita
I don't believe in Yoga
I don't believe in kings
I don't believe in Elvis
I don't believe in Zimmerman
I don't believe in Beatles
I just believe in me
Yoko and me
And that's reality

Of the four threads about beatle spirits, this one has the best OP. Reason enough to bump it, I think.

What does everyone else think? Which is the best John Lennon thread?

I would not have posted mine, had I seen this one. Of course, if this one had a better title, I might have seen it in the first place.

Don't worry, I wasn't trying to get you down, I just thought it was funny! :)

Oh, wait, what I meant to say was, "How could you dare to start a new thread when there were already a number of obscure threads about the same topic! You evil evil three fingered girl!"

I wonder if he did drugs which make it so he could not face reality?

Or course, he also said

I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?

Seems contradictory.

i'm not sure of the date of this song verses the quote you printed, i know the song i posted was from a period when the beatles were dissolving as a band, so it was probably a dissolusioned time, but regardless, i always loved listening to such a harsh declaration of non-belief.

the quote you printed looks more like an argument for fantasy for the sake of fantasy, not an actual declaration that he believes those things are "real". its a silly philosophical argument that i think isnt technically contradictory. tho i think it is silly and it's the type of stuff that makes me steer clear of most philosophy literature.

on a final note, i love some of lennon's stuff, am totally bored or in disagreement with other, so i dont want to turn this into a john lennon thread.

:)
