I am wondering about something. I noticed when I am posting on this forum, that I have messed up and have had to fix some of my mistakes. I see the words as correct, but after I press send and review it, I realize I've made mistakes. Could this be dylexia? Can someone tell me symptoms and ways to treat it? Or if they think it's something else.

It may be my Motor-Vision that is the problem too, but I don't know enough about it, because it was only a real problem when I was about 7, that causes these mistakes. I've tried looking on the net about it, but I can't get a good description about what Motor-Vision Problem really is.

It sounds like dyslexia to me, but I'm not a doctor. You should talk to your doctor and tell him your symptoms to see what he thinks. That's the best advice you're going to get with that sort of a question on this forum.

I agree with Dustin, plus I'm not so sure we can give medical advice if we aren't licensed.

I will thanks. I wish I could get a better idea on this stuff now. I struggled through school, because I had teachers that taught by putting stuff on the chalk board, but my mind can't comprehend it, but if it's given to me on paper, I can understand it.

Dyslexia is not primarily a visual problem. There is good information on the DAM (Mothers Against Dyslexia) website.

I can tell you what mild dyslexia is like, if you wish. And a number of other posters here can describe dealing with the more severe forms.

i dont know a lot about dyslexia but i too get words mixed up.i used to look up a dictionary before i posted but it took ages so now i just wing it(nobody seems to notice:) ) numbers are worse for me if im told a number say 89 i have to visiualy imagine the number in my head. at school i was quite clever:D but struggled to put down on paper what was in my head.no-one knew about dyslexia then

A doctor might help but I would recommend a certified reading specialist.

Learning disabilities are usually defined by an inability to perform in the class room situation compared to tested ability.

Welcome to the forum.

There are many different forms of inability to process information in the school setting.

That was my problem in school too, as I've told Wings. I can't look at something on the chalk board and comprehend it, or even put it down on paper, but if it was on paper, right in front of me, then it'd just click. Also thank you for the welcome. :D

I often miss typos until I reread my words after posting them. I'm fairly confident I'm not dyslexic.

My son is dyslexic; he cannot detect his spelling mistakes at all.

i am "dyslexic" the best book I have read on the subject is A Mind At a Time
by Dr Mel Levine. Dyslexia is a broad term that covers lots of diverse symptoms.
