NASA have a nice animation of the Summer's hurricane activity in the area around the Caribbean Sea.

From this page. One thing that you can clearly see is the trail left by hurricanes in the form of reduced surface temperatures. Presumably because the hurricane is 'feeding' from this energy source as it moves along its track.
