This guy is my 'horse pick' to win the Democratic nomination, AND the election against President Bush in 2004.
WHY?
Because he is the only hard liner that I haven't heard about.
He is not a known democrat, and no one really wants to have a Presidential Loss on their record. It is really tough to shake those off. They're going to pick him because he is almost disposable, and yet like Clinton he's got a great chance at winning.
What Dean lacks is the charm & personality that Clinton exuded. Which I feel may work in his favor, because I think the Democrats will have to employ some anti-Clinton tactics to get those crossover voters.
What the neither party seemingly knows is that the President is VERY beatable. In fact, if we do NOT invade another country before the election, I'd say chances are this President will not see a second term.
Of course, if there is another attack on American soil...a second term is likely.
Sadly, the masses can be 'led' to believe one thing or another, so that politics is really about image and public perception, and NOT about the actual facts of the matter or the man. Additionally, there is an ebb and flow to the whole thing, so that with one extreme to the right will follow one from the left. While some tides can be held, it is almost only a matter of time before them retreat.
So, what do we have in store for us tomorrow? It is really difficult to say for sure, there is a lot of history to be made between now and then. However, being in the world of politics, I am also in the world of predictions and in these 2 races I'll calling Dean to win in the first by a neck, and then in the second by more than a full length.
Who are you backing and why?
