Heck, how about another exhaustive impromptu poll... how many people are changing their presidential vote from 2000, and why (in short)?

(for purposes of this poll, "changing your vote" means voting for a different party).

Missing my option: I voted for Bush, and this year, I will say f*** this s***.

Only 10 choices possible, sadly. Why not try a vacation on sunny Planet X?

I will vote for Bush this year
My priomary reason is Kerry's stance on Gun laws.

That's a really dumb reason not to vote for Kerry. If you give him a month or two, he's certain to change it.

Thanks for always elevating the debate.

Think what you want but I'm completely serious. If gun ownership becomes a serious issue in this campaign, and I suspect it just might, then you are very likely to see newsreels of Kerry snowboarding near his mountian cabin with a six-shooter holstered to his side. I know that comes off as rhetoric but I honestly think he will do or say anything if he thinks there's a polling point-gain in it for him. I'm NOT suggesting he actually believes everything he says, instead, exactly half of it.

You forgot one choice - There were no qualified candidates, so I voted for no one.

What does "qualified" mean? Do they have to kiss men and love showtunes?

Or pretend they know jazz, when all they really know about is j*z? Like you.

How did this guy not get banned?

By quickly making it on to 95% of "Ignore" lists. I think they made it the default setting for all new accounts, in fact.

Ah, you're in sort of a free speech zone.

For some, it is not worth it to muzzle someone and have people wonder if they are idiotic, when they can remove the muzzle and all doubt with it.

To make a more serious point on this... you truly believe that this is the most important issue they differ on?

Personally, I argue that an anti-gun agenda, if Kerry indeed has one, cannot go much farther than it already has, the way Congress is currently divided.

I will note that I personally feel that Democrats should back off of the gun thing for the sake of very necessary solidarity with people that otherwise are sympathetic.

I don't think guns are the most important issue. (Though they do weight heavily with me) Most of Bush's platform I can live with. I do have some problems with his positions like stem cell research. I have written to him and my reps about pushing bills that would make stem cell more available for research and I will continue doing so.

Kerry is Anti-gun and there is no doubt. He has been posing as a hunter and nothing more. His voting record speaks for him. He even voted against the tort reform. I fear a democrat back into office because if you remember the 1994 ban was brought in my Clinton and barely passed. I don't want to give them another chance.

Congress is currently divided the way it is, but that could all change come November. I know my two senators and Reps can no longer running this year.

It appears that the Dems have backed off the gun agenda, but they have only stopped talking about it. They are still moving forward with their total gun ban. Kerry even missed all votes except for one which was related to guns. (I would have to look it up) They have played along with Senator Fienstien (SP?) in California. Kennedy and her have been trying to put permanent bans in place for some time.

I even got a letter from the democrats (My wife is a registered democrat) saying the NRA is the enemy. They also have their stickingpoints, but I believe they are acting in the right path.

Everyone makes the NRA out to be the enemy but most of these people don't know the first thing about them.

This I don't understand, as Bush's stance is almost identical.

No quite. Actually I guess we don't really know since the bills have to reach his desk before he votes. However Ashcroft actually reaffirmed the second amendment guarentees the private owner ship.

The administration that has already made the U.S. an aggressor state, and made human rights violations in our nation's name possible gets voted out.

And intelligent people have reaffirmed that Ashcroft is an idiot. So I wouldn't really trust his legal judgement on this or any other issue.
