hello all

ive been subscribed to thunderf00t on you tube for a long time now and think he is doing a marvellous job of upholding critical thinking within that community. ive never heard him mentioned on this forum or any other skeptical forum.

just wondered if anyone else is aware of his work? i think he deserves some plaudits from us.

what do yous think?

Yep, I, for one, am aware. I think a lot of people are, especially since his interview with Dawkins.

his ray comfort interview was a bit dissappointing. but its almost impossible to get a point accross with that fellah.

I have all 32 parts of his "Why do people laugh at creationists" series archived on my website. With permission of course.

The Why do people laugh at Creationists series is wonderful. I've been a thunderf00t fan ever since discovering the series -- from a mention here, if I recall correctly.

I've gone off him recently (drama and all) but he has said he's going to start going back to his roots so that's cool.

I haven't watched anything other than his Creationist series and (part of) his interview with Dawkins. Did he branch out into other areas?

another fan here.

also QualiaSoup has some excellent videos on critical thinking. think i discovered him through the JREF, so thank you :)

I miss the old Thunderf00t not this new one.

Dealing with Islam, which started off about the guy threatening the south park creators and he then branched out on Islam in general and then went crazy on people who disagreed with them.

I might mention that he has another YouTube channel called beautyintheuniverse, that he uploads to while on his summer vacations. He generally travels to places of geological or paeontological significance, which means that the western half of canada and the US play big parts (he lives currently in New York). He loads up his compact with a bunch of computer gear, a telescope and a RC airplane equipped with camera, and you get a part travellog, part high-speed road driving (time-lapse), part guided tour by a science-knowledgable person, part views from odd airplane angles and part nighttime astronomy. He uploads episodes as he goes.

I liked his videos at first, but his quarrel with that kid from Chicago made him look extremely petty and immature. And he went in with the Comfort debate unprepared. It was pretty obvious what fallacies Comfort would commit, where he would lead the discussion, but thunderf00t didn't seem to have the skills to give Comfort the knockout punch.

Pretty much this. His 'debate' with Comfort was embarrassing. He could've done A LOT better than that.

That kid from Chicago was VenomFangX, wasn't it?

Nah, can't be can it? VFX was from Canada.

Plus he deserved all the crap he got.
