Would a thread about health issues be helpful?

I can start it off with a couple of articles ...

This article in the UK Daily Mail tells how sushi is laden with calories, salt and
mercury:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/li...ness.html?in_article_id=46174&in_page_id=1798

While this earlier article claims that sushi is the ultimate healthy snack:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/li...ess.html?in_article_id=381958&in_page_id=1798

So, who's right? The negative article has the most facts, so I think I'll go
along with that one. It does make the point that the Japanese have a very
healthy basic diet, where as we in the West do tend to eat the wrong things.

the negative article on sushi sounds dodgier - it does things like switching between different types of sushi depending on what negative aspect they want to highlight (salmon sushi - farmed, I presume - increases risk of cancer; avocado and crab roll sushi - ugh - is high-calory; tuna sushi is relatively high in mercury...) Is the article trying to say that we should avoid all seafood products? As has already been said, both articles are in the Mail...

Anyway, I like sushi, and imagine the nutritional make-up of the stuff compares fairly well to alternatives like fried fish and chips :D
