That's on the eye-catching street sign put up by the council that I've just seen near where I live, encouraging dog owners to clean up after their pets. There seems to be a lot more of the stuff around than usual at the moment, so it's very timely.
Perhaps tanners ought to revert to the use of dog turds for treating skins when making leather, as was done a couple of centuries ago. The excrement was called "pure" and pure-finders as they were called managed to make a living in London; they could earn as much as 15/- a week. Pure rubbed into the skins by hand (to "purify" them) enabled very soft, high-quality leather to be made.
