I listened to Jim Sparks on the Paracast last night. It was the first time I had listened to that show. Jim Sparks has written a book called "The Keepers" and claims that he has been in contact with aliens for about 20 years. I missed the first part of his interview but I will try locate and download it.
I do not normally believe in alien abductions and I don't know that I believe Jim Sparks. I have to admit that he sounds very convincing and that his detailed accounts somewhat disturb me.
I've tried to find out if he has been debunked anywhere and Google has not helped me to find anything useful. I did a search here and came up with nothing. Does anyone know if there is some good info either for his case or against it? His case isn't like the run-of-the-mill type like the Hills and numerous others. At least I don't see that it is.
Any ideas? Thanks!

That is a pretty remarkable claim! What sort of evidence has been presented to validate his claim?

I read a book by some guy named Tolkien. It held a very detailed account of Hobbits, Elves, Dwarfs, and even a dragon. It seemed very real. It wasn't though. It was just a description of a fictitious event.

I wasn't able to google anything specific on him, other than marketing stuff for his book, but I can give you my best debunking effort. Here goes:

Evidence?

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof."

Let Jim Sparks prove his claims, if he can. Otherwise, file his story under "Science Fiction."

Yes Fnord, the proof is in the pudding. Make all the claims you want, without evidence they're just claims. After 20 years of contact, where's the proof? Keep in mind Minarvia, that a detailed account and convincing story don't make it true. Perhaps in his own mind it did happen. Prove it with evidence, not just words.

Very good points, thank you! I guess I had hoped to find, by Googling, snippets of his book to see if he does or does not offer any evidence. His story is quite interesting and, from the interview, quite detailed. I guess that doesn't make it true, of course. But, yes, I did not think too much on the 20 years aspect. There should indeed be some good evidence if he endured such things for decades of his life. I'll have to listen to the first part of the interview and hear if he explains more about how he was supposedly taught their language, the punishment/rewards aspect, and how he knows that time travel is real!
Thank you all for helping me to keep my head on straight. :)
